‘Put Your Foot Down’ is a stylish and unique silk pocket square with hand-finished hem, inspired by the original 'The Italian Job' film. It was created in collaboration with pop artist Jonathan Aiken and is presented in a complimentary gift box. Made in England; printed and manufactured with hand-finishing in Macclesfield Cheshire, the traditional home of English silk printing. Design & Inspiration 'Put Your Foot Down’ is a stylish and unique full-size silk pocket square and has been created in collaboration with contemporary Irish artist Jonathan Aiken, whose style is influenced by the Pop Art movement. Working on a variety of materials but always using layers of colour and texture, Jonathan creates works which draw on popular culture and visually reinterpret some of our most identifiable icons. Created on two large steel sheets, Jonathan's original work was inspired by the Mini Cooper S getaway cars in ‘The Italian Job’, the Swinging Sixties caper movie. The film’s iconic status was not immediate, however its increasing popularity over time has helped cement the Mini Cooper as a cultural icon and immortalised much of the film’s dialogue. The artwork is reproduced with a good balance of colour between the printed and reverse sides of the silk pocket square so works perfectly with any pocket square fold. The image is framed by the pocket square’s off-white border as well as the red and blue hand-rolled & hand-sewn hem. 'Put Your Foot Down' is presented in a complimentary branded gift box with its blueberry-coloured lid and pale blue base. Inside each box, the high-quality Italian Job inspired silk pocket square is tissue-wrapped and accompanied by a card telling the story of the artist and his vibrant artwork. Size Full-size silk pocket square, 42cm x 42cm (16.5” x 16.5”). Dimensions may vary slightly following the printing and manufacturing process as silk is a natural material. Material Composition & Care High-quality 100% Mulberry silk woven into 15oz silk twill gives the characteristic sheen and cool touch as well as ensuring the pocket square sits nicely in the top pocket. Silk should always be dry cleaned. Avoid pressing the hand-finished hem to preserve its distinctive 'shoestring' shape.
